We drove to Taos today to crew with David and Anita’s balloon in the Taos Balloon Festival this weekend. We have also committed to crewing at Page, AZ next weekend with them.
First, let us catch you up on what has been happening. The all-consuming item has been the hail repairs on the RV. The claim was approved by the insurance company on October 18th. Camping World could not start on the work until this Monday, October 24th. Monday the RV went to Camping World and we have been staying with David and Anita, they’ve been great hosts – thanks!
As the shower, refrigerator and the damaged floor has been removed this week, additional damage has been discovered. Camping World is working with the insurance company and expects the repairs to be completed early next week. We’ll keep you informed on the RV repairs.
In addition to the repairs, both Elaine and I suffered through about 4 days when we really didn’t feel very well, we are attributing that to either allergies or a head cold.
This morning we visited the Rio Grande Gorge visitor center as we drove to Taos. This afternoon we visited the Rio Grande bridge which goes across the gorge. The scenery up here is beautiful, as is the weather. It was around 70 F this afternoon.
Taos is beautiful, we will spend much of tomorrow visiting the shops downtown. The first balloon activity for us will be Saturday morning.
